Since the story about Susan's aunt had come out and Suzan Bones left (apparently without even seeking out any particular people to say goodbye and leaving it at those she ran into on the way), Hufflepuff had been nearly silent.

Jake had never been in the common room and not been able to really hear a roar of conversations. That's just how the Hufflepuffs generally were. Most of the time, they were in pretty good moods. Now it seemed like this darkness had just dropped over the entire house. On the rare occassion that someone actually managed to joke or laugh, they seemed to look extremely repentant.

He liked Susan, he felt bad for her and her family, but he couldn't see getting this freaked out. Not yet. This could be a one time act fro ma crazy person.

When he could have sworn he heard someone crying, Jake shoved up off the couch and headed out of the Hufflepuff area. He didn't know where he was going and he really didn't care; but he didn't stop until someone said his name.

Maybe I'm glad Smith has the team, this stuff is hard to deal with. Put it on top of prefect stuff and it's crazy.

Plus this work, it's intense. THis year should be easier. Tough luck, right?

I don't like stressing out. Somebody fix that for me.

We don't do anything fun anymore. None of us. Sort of we do, I guess. Stealing the Weasleys' stuff from people trying to pull pranks with it is fun. Amateurs.

I hate rain.

Just a way for the univers to ruin all my plans. Figures.

And I really want to blow off rounds tonight. It's freaking Friday and it's not even my weekend. But Goldstein needed to trade for Merlin knows what bloody reason he had. Nice of Sprout to volunteer me, right?

I had damn good plans for tonight.

It's that time of year. This week, I'm going to be scarce.

Not having class until 2 screws me up.

I don't have the motivation to do anything except sleep. It sort of makes me wish we had practice on Friday mornings. I'd have a reason to get up and do something before noon.

Only reason I was up at 10 was whatever hell was being raised in the fourth year dorms. Those kids are in hell right now for it. This is why I love being a prefect.

I'm trading my sister in for a new model.

Travis (or Whitby), you can have her and I'll take one of your sisters. They like me better anyway.

Smith, you suck. If I knew this was going to be the lineup, I wouldn't have gone back on the bloody bet.

At least Megan, Kevin, Smith, and I know what we're doing.

Jake was too busy laughing to himself to care all that much about where he was going. He wasn't even sure what he was doing, specifically. He needed to go find someone to hang out with. Walking around Hogsmeade all alone was not his idea of a good time.

Of course, Jake never liked to do much by himself. Such a silly little co-dependent boy.

He was just about to give up and go buy a couple things Julie-Ann was begging for when he saw arguably his favorite people. "Hey, gorgeous," he grinned as he came up behind Elley.

Two people screw up out here and the rest of us have to pay for it? Yeah, that's balanced.

I almost just wish someone's parents would bitch about their kids having to take sex ed so they'd maybe drop it.

It's better than them bitching about Lupin being here. You people really think we wouldn't have heard about something like that happening before it made papers?

Normally I don't bloody care what those things say....it usually doesn't involve me. Lupin's just my favorite teacher.

I want a free day. Why am I the only person that doesn't get free days?

Jake had planned on just owling Elley as soon as he got to Diagon Alley. He'd have done it from home and asked her to meet him out there; but Julie-Ann had banned him from using December, the owl Elley had given her for her birthday, ever since he'd started poking fun at the name. He was just on his eay down the street, figuring he'd spend the day with Elley doing this back to school junk (his parents were nice enough to take Julie so he didn't have to) and then hit the beach for a few days to say goodbye.

Before he made it that far, he saw someone he'd made a promise to a girl that he'd talk to. "How's it?"

So is there a real summer blowout party? Or is that just what that one at Davis' place is? And is someone else going to get killed?

Back to the real world, right? Just a couple more weeks and we're stuck in the same place for way too long. Brilliant.

At least Quidditch is going to be interesting. I mean, our team's probably going to be six shades of changed when September rolls around. Heh

I'm sick of sitting here reading all these papers and trying to figure out what in hell is going on.

So I'm going back to the beach. I don't care if I'll just catch hell from my parents for it.

Unless someone else wants to give me something better to do. But surfing is hard to top.

OWLs were decent. An O (Potions, big surprise), 2 Es, and 3 As.
I didn't need to keep Astronomy and Divination anyway. They're not really important.

Whoever helped me (especially in Herbology) well...thanks. I needed it.

Still Prefect (heh). Still not Quidditch Captain (yet).

Could be worse.

I'm back home. It's Julie-Ann's birthday. She's got all these little first years (guess they're 2nd now) coming over. Good times.

I miss the beach. Whoever's still there, have fun without me, but not too much fun. I'm the party anyway.

Padma or/and whoever...puppies are good to go. Whenever you want one, come pick them out. They're on my nerves anyway.

That's going to be fun.
